World Tai Chi and Qigong Day at the EmilyAnn Theatre’s Butterfly Festival in the Texas Hill Country

One World…One Breath

Spreading Calm, Peace, and Well-being across the planet … with the medical research to back it up!

For over two decades, a quiet subtle phenomenon has grown across the planet. Each year, on the “last Saturday of April,” in 100s of cities in over 80 nations, spanning 6 continents… World Tai Chi & Qigong Day mass teach-ins and exhibitions have been held around the planet all on the same day… creating a worldwide wave of Tai Chi and Qigong.

In 2019, the Hill Country’s Tai Chi and Qigong community are honored to be an integral part of the Butterfly Festival at the EmilyAnn Theatre in Wimberley, Texas.

The EmilyAnn Theatre is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 with a mission to “reinvest in the dignity of the human spirit through the performing arts, the beauty of nature and community fellowship.”

When we met with Ann Rolling at the EmilyAnn theatre and talked about her mission and vision for the organization, we knew this was the perfect fit for our community’s celebration of World Tai Chi and Qigong Day.

Healing Qigong Practice as part of Opening Ceremonies

We invite everyone out to the EmilyAnn Theatre on April 27th to participate in a day of Celebration, Remembrance and Healing as a part of the 21st Annual Butterfly Festival. Opening Ceremonies begin at 9:00 am at the Veteran’s Memorial with a memorial to lives lost in the community culminating in the day’s first butterfly release.

Following the release, our Hill Country Tai Chi and Qigong community will invite anyone who wishes (no experience or knowledge of the practice necessary) to participate in a Healing Qigong Practice. This simple yet profound practice of breath and movement is often called “Medication in Motion.”

All across the globe, at 10:00 a.m. in each time zone, communities of Tai Chi and Qigong players will be practicing together, creating a wave of peace and healing across the world. The Hill Country Tai Chi and Qigong Community is thrilled to bring this event to the Butterfly Festival at the EmilyAnn Theatre. We’re dedicated to spreading the word (and experience) about the profound health and life benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong and are excited to have such an amazing audience with with to share!

Our Intention is to get people Practicing!

After Opening Ceremonies, our band of merry Tai Chi and Qigong practitioners will roam the grounds at the EmilyAnn Theatre, encouraging participants to join in to experience the healing benefits of these ancient Chinese practices for themselves.

In addition, we will have individual and group demonstrations of specific forms throughout the day. These mesmerizing presentations are often just as healing to watch as they are to engage in.

We encourage you to find out more about Tai Chi and Qigong in your community. Feel free to talk with any of us about our stories, our practices, and where you can find a Tai Chi or Qigong class in your community. You can also get information on becoming a Practice Leader for your community!
